Biographical Notes
14 March 1932
Born in Rishon LeZion, in pre-State Israel, to a family of citrus growers. His parents, Olga and Shmuel Levin, gave him the creative name Aviv (Heb. springtime, prime). He grew up in Rishon LeZion, and from his early childhood was interested in the plastic arts and in music, and engaged in painting, photography, and writing.
1946
At 14 he purchased his first camera and started taking pictures of various people and events in his hometown.
1948-1946
Served in the Hagana, and engaged in youth counseling.
1952-1950
Completed his IDF service in the Nahal (Pioneering Fighting Youth) and in the School for infantry officers. Following his mandatory service, he continued to serve in the reserves until 2003, first in the combat corps and subsequently in the headquarters, the last 20 years as a volunteer.

Married educator and musician Hadara Efron.
1959-1957
Specialized in legal work and was accepted to the bar.
1961-1959
Engaged in writing for the daily press and in PR.
1972-1961
Deputy Chief Legal Advisor for Bank Hapoalim and Managing Director in corporations associated with the bank’s subsidiaries.
1997-1974
Chief Legal Advisor for Bank Hapoalim; member of the Bank’s Board of Management. During the last years of his work, served as the Bank’s Joint Managing Director.
1980s
Resumed his engagement in photography in his meager free
time.
1996
His wife Hadara passed away.
1997
Retired. Upon his retirement, Bank Hapoalim management staged an exhibition of his photographs in the atrium at its Tel Aviv headquarters, which opened on September 1, 1997. It was his first solo exhibition out of the 20 which he would stage throughout the country.
2005-2000
Participated as photographer in a project initiated by the Council for the Child in Placement, intended to grant sheltered children childhood albums with their active participation.
16 March 2006
Passed away two days after his 74th birthday.
